Monster...vibrating seats...coffee...our last day in London

Ello :) So yesterday (since it's after midnight now here, so technically it was yesterday :P) was my last day in this amazing, wonderful and magical city of London. After having my usual breakfast of eggs, hash browns, a home made roll with nutella and some coffee, we headed out to walk on Abbey Road! Must be so aggravating for people that have to drive there with all the tourists wanting to walk across...after waiting a bit, myself,Josh, and Erin got our picture walking across Abbey Road :) Then we headed out on our walking tour that was filled with seeing and comparing some of the incredible architecture of London. During that, we ate at E.A.T ( yes itsbliterally called E.A.T, and it has some of the best, home made food I've ever had)...I got this super yummy red pepper and goat cheese soup, Josh got some pot ( those yogurt cups :P) , and Katie got this amazing rasperry smoothie thing. Although today ended well, it was so cold and rainy out today...my coat was soaked and so was my umbrella by the time I got back. So after we were finished with seeing the architecture, me and Josh headed off to the Disney store and M&M world to get some last minute souvenirs ( singing One Direction even happened...it was pretty great). At that point, it was time for some COFFEE (I really like coffee...in case the capitalization didn't point that put :P). We finally gave into our temptation and went to Temptations in Highbury :P ( we're just so puny :P) and I got a delicious vanilla cappachino. A few hours later it was time for our last dinner from Fabio :( It was amazing as always....chicken soup to start, then a cheesy vegetable and meat filled tortilla with a salad, and HOMEMADE ICE CREAM for dessert :) thank you Erin :) he even chopped some hazelnuts in it so it tasted like nutella! We also gave him the signed group picture of us...his reaction wad priceless... "What can I say...I love you!" He told me again how he's going to miss my smile :) Fabio is just too adorable! As if that wasn't wonderful enough of a meal, for our last night in London, we decded to check out The Beach Hut in Highbury for some fish and chips. Oh. My. Goodness....best fish and chips I have ever had for sure. Then we walked back while acting like crazy fools per usual....and now here I am, sitting in my room in the Highbury Center which I will be leaving in less than 8 hours....this whole experience has been an immense blessing. The Highbury center has become another home....I have strengthened friendships and gained a true appreciation for life and the wonderful experiences we are granted. I will forever be grateful for this amazing adventure, and I know in my heart that this won't be the last time I'm in London....so until next time London, it's been an amazing ride :)

One word- Phantom :)

Howdy :) Today was another eventful day here in London- started out a bit dismal and rainy, but eventually turned into a beautiful day :) We had our last lecture this morning which was super interesting but well.....long :P Our last gallery assignment was at the Imperial War Museum where we went to the Holocaust exhibit.....it was absolutely heart wrenching. The heartless slaughter of people that occurred under the power of Hitler was exemplified through enlarged images, videos with interviews of survivors, and artifacts of things found after the concentration camps had ended years later (there was one point in the exhibit with a wall of shoes that belonged to people of all ages who had been killed at the camps....it was horrifying). That was certainly a powerful experience and one I won't ever be forgetting- then we headed back, had a lovely 2nd last dinner from Fabio, and then I went to go see the PHANTOM OF THE OPERA at Her Majesty's Theatre (I was a little bit excited....hence the capitalization :P). To say the least, I was certainly not disappointed- the vocals, costumes, stage effects, and acting were just incredible. I do have to admit that I think I liked Wicked more than Phantom, but Phantom was still an amazing show (the scene where Phantom takes Kristene on the boat in the darkness with the candles was amazing...and the man who played Phantom was out of this world...literally :P). Now, I'm back at the Highbury thinking about how at this time in 48 hours I will be sitting in JFK waiting for my flight back to Buffalo....so crazy that it's almost over! Well.....last day tomorrow...definitely going to make it count :) :)

Last Monday in London 6/4/12

Good day love :) ( thought I would use some British terminology to open this post up :P) It's so hard to believe that I only have three days left in this amazing city....but today was yer another eventful day. We talked about World War I in lecture and a bit into World War II and went to the Imperial War Museum for our gallery assignment. Talk about an incredible experience- they had samples of outfits worn by soldiers, medals, letters written from soldiers to their families and friends, a trench experience where you actually felt like you were in the trenches with sound affects and a smell of what it would be like, and telephones where you could listen to actual commentary of soldiers and people in the home front. It was just mind boggling. Afterwards, we went shopping at Oxford Circus where we went shopping in Great Brittania and Starbucks for some half off frappachinos, and I even got some pot ;) ( don't worry, I don't mean actual pot, they have these cups of fruit, oatmeal, and fruit that they call "pot" :P). After that came the insane tube experience riding back where we were packed in like a can of sardines, and a British college student mentioned I could grab onto his arm if I were to lose my balance and later told me to call him haha- then came another fabulous dinner from our wonderful chef at Highbury with home made chicken noodle soup, fish and chips, and cookies. Then it was time for a girls night out of shopping with the two Katie 's :) Had a minor heart attack upon walking into the Disney store...it was incredible! There was even a magic mirror that displayed clips from Disney movies when you waved one of the toy wands at it- I felt like a kid again, it was pretty great :) After that we shopped at a cute little general store and then headed back- well, I got 3 more days left....plan on living it up every second ;)

My adventure so far in a nutshell

Hola :) so obviously I have forgotten to post here for the past few weeks, so I am going to sum up the big points of my trip so far... - seeing Wicked live was definitely one of the most amazing experiences of my life. It was clearly evident that London was the city where Wicked all began with the simply incredible acting and vocals. Every time that curtain opened, I got this sensation of goosebumps, and the incredible harmonies that were produced in the numbers were music to my ears ( literally :P). I even cried in the number For Good which says a lot because I 've never cried during a musical before. It was a wonderful evening! - Seeing Big Ben at night the first week we were here and on the Eye yesterday was like something out of a dream. The utter beauty of it almost brought tears to my eyes, and I couldn't stop smiling :) The fact that God created a world with people that are capable of building such beautiful things just blows my mind- a wonderful and un- forgetting experience for sure! - A super attractive, tall blond British man talked to me on the tube the one day pertaining to my red velvet cupcake from the hummingbird cafe, which turned into a full blown conversation- so great :):) - Shopping here is like shopping in New York city only so much better because things aren't quite as pricey overall, and people have British accents :) - our afternoon in Brighton this past Saturday was definitely a wonderful experience- the sun shining, Atlantic ocean waves rushing in against the sand, the rides going on at the pier, seagulls flying amongst the clouds and shining sun....it was amazing!! And I ate at a Vegan restaurant for the first time which was actually very delicious (I got a stuffed potato with a fresh salad....so yummy! - Having authentic British fish and chips was pretty noteworthy, and considering I normal don't like fish, I was surprised how much I liked it! This experience as a whole is just such a blessing. Here I am, this imperfect person loved so much by a perfect God that I am able to have an experience like this- as a whole, this trip has given me a true appreciation for the utter beauty of this amazing world that God created- well, 4 days left....and I plan on making then count ;)

Hey y'all :)so today made a very interesting start to my London adventure...our flight, which was supposed to leave at 5:11pm never took off due to problems with the receptors on the airplanes wings that detect if the wings are getting over heated- sob to make a long story short, I am currently waiting in the buffalo airport for another flight that should be taking off in a little over an hour that will take us to JFK. When we get there, we are getting hotel rooms for the night free of charge, and are spending the day in NYC, which should be pretty nice. We wil be missing our introductory stuff in London to get us acquainted with the highbury center and our first day of lecture, but i guess we just have to roll with the punches. Well until next time( which is hopefully when we will be in London, over and out :)
